Hello Curtis Families,

We hope you and your students are having a fantastic start to the school year! We are so excited about all the great things happening at Curtis Elementary this month.

Please take a look at our September "Fridge Note" for important dates and events, including our upcoming Fall Book Fair and Grandparents & Grownups Day.

This month, we're also focusing on making attendance a priority with our "Pop into School" attendance theme. Each week has a fun dress-up day to get students excited about coming to school and shining bright!

September 5th: Panther Pride Day — Wear your PHS Panther spirit shirt or a red shirt with jeans for $2.

September 12th: Pajama Day — Wear pajamas and Pop out of bed and into school!

September 19th: Neon Day —Wear NEON and let your attendance Pop in neon glow!

September 26th: Pop Star Day — Dress like a pop star and let your attendance shine!

Remember that all dress up clothes must be school appropriate.

We encourage you to talk with your student about the importance of being at school every day. We believe that regular attendance is key to a successful year for our Curtis Tigers. Thank you for your continued support!

Curtis Families,
We are thrilled to announce that the second round of spirit wear has been delivered and was sent home yesterday with students! We love seeing all the school pride, and the new gear looks fantastic.

As a reminder, tomorrow, Friday, August 29th, is also our monthly Snack Friday. Snacks can be purchased for $1.

Dear Curtis Families, We are excited to welcome you to a brand new school year at Curtis Elementary! As we kick off the 2025–2026 school year, we want to ensure a safe, smooth, and efficient arrival and dismissal process for all of our students. Please take a moment to review our Carline Procedures for this school year. We’ve included a helpful map and guidelines (see below) to make the process as easy as possible for you and your child. 🔸 Key Reminders for Drop-off and Pick-up: • Enter the car line from Barksdale Boulevard, nearest Plume Daycare. • Follow the red path shown on the map and pull up as far as possible to the covered sidewalk. • Students must enter and exit the vehicle from the right side only, nearest the curb. • For safety, please do not allow students to exit from the driver’s side or drop them off on the main road. • Keep your green CES car tag visible on the dashboard for quick identification during pick-up. • Please stay in your car unless parked in a designated spot, and wait for staff assistance when unloading. 🕗 Carline Times: • Drop-off: 7:55 – 8:20 AM • Pick-up: 3:10 – 3:25 PM ⛔ Reminder: Cell phone usage in a school zone is prohibited under Louisiana law.
